Who We Are

The Student Bar Association (SBA) is the heart of student governance and advocacy at the University of Houston Law Center (UHLC). Dedicated to representing Houston Law students and enhancing the student experience, we strive to create opportunities for students to develop as young legal professionals and make the most of their time in law school.

Event Sponsorship Opportunities

SBA is open to collaborating with interested external entities to create new events and opportunities for the Law Center student body, both on and off campus. SBA has several recurring events available for sponsorship. Nonetheless, we invite sponsors to support recurring SBA events, such as:

  • Bar Reviews: Our most common social event, held approximately three times throughout each semester, with the intent of providing an environment for students to take a break and connect with classmates.
  • Halloween Bash: ~350 attendees – A festive Halloween event that fosters camaraderie and allows our students to unwind before the start of the Fall finals season.
  • Barrister’s Ball: ~600 attendees – Our formal Spring gala celebrating student achievements, community connections, and the completion of another successful year of law school.
  • Lunch and Learns: Exclusive lunch panels hosted at the Law Center by SBA, allowing students to learn from practicing attorneys about relevant legal topics and their experiences within the legal profession.

How to Sponsor SBA

By Credit Card: Visit giving.uh.edu/law, choose your gift, select “Law Foundation – Other” and write “Student Bar Association” in the Special Instructions box to designate your payment for the Student Bar Association.

By Check: For check donations, please make your check payable to the “University of Houston Law Foundation” with “Student Bar Association” as the subject, and mail to:

Tax Deduction: All donations to the SBA (credit card or check) are tax-deductible. The Law Center will provide a receipt with the applicable tax codes following your donation. Questions? Email giving@uh.edu!

Platinum (Minimum $3,000 donation)

  • All Events Recognition: Premier recognition and logo placement at all SBA events, as well as on all marketing materials.
  • Dedicated Luncheon: Engage with students on campus through an exclusive, firm-hosted lunch panel.
  • Promotional Tabling: Your promotional materials will be displayed on the SBA table at student events. Upon request, SBA can reserve an on-campus table for your firm to offer food or merchandise.
  • Media Spotlight: Regular recognition and promotion on social media, student newsletters, and website.
  • Direct Advertisement: SBA will share recruitment events and firm information with members via our email or other SBA platforms. As the Law Center’s largest student organization, we offer the broadest direct student reach.

Gold (Minimum $2,000 donation)
