Join us on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Houston Museum of Natural Science — Glassell Hall (5555 Hermann Park Drive, Houston, TX 77030) from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM for an evening of music, dancing, and celebration as we come together to mark another year of achievement at the Law Center.
This event features a hosted bar and non-alcoholic beverage service (options vary by ticket type), with professional bartenders on site throughout the evening. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy the full experience as the venue transforms from safari to sea for UHLC’s most anticipated event of the year. Event Indemnification &
Waiver of Liability Provisions
By purchasing a ticket for, and attending the, 2026 Barrister’s Ball (the “Event”), at the Houston Museum of Natural Science located at 5555 Hermann Park Drive, Houston, TX 77030 (the “Venue”), the ticket holder (“Attendee”) agrees to the following terms:
The Attendee assumes all risks associated with participation in the Event, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or loss. The Attendee further agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the UHLC Student Bar Association, the University of Houston Law Center, its officers, agents, representatives, and affiliates (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims, demands, suits, judgments, losses, costs, and expenses, including attorney’s fees, arising out of or related to the Attendee’s participation in the Event, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by Texas law.
The Attendee acknowledges that this indemnification and waiver of liability is binding upon themselves, their heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns. The Attendee further agrees that any legal proceedings arising out of participation in the Event shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas, and shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
Event Notices
The Student Bar Association (SBA) is committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all attendees of the 2026 Barrister’s Ball. To maintain the integrity of this event, the following policies will be strictly enforced:
- Behavioral Expectations:
- Any unruly, disruptive, or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
- Attendees engaging in conduct that compromises the safety or enjoyment of others may be subject to immediate removal from the venue premises.
- Ticket and Entry Policies:
- Violation of ticket permissions, including but not limited to, unauthorized resale, duplication, or transfer of tickets, is strictly prohibited.
- Attendees found in breach of ticketing policies will be denied entry and/or removed from the venue premises.
- Beverage Service Policies:
- Alcohol will be served exclusively by the event’s licensed beverage vendor. The vendor reserves the absolute right, in its sole discretion, to refuse service to any attendee who appears intoxicated, impaired, disruptive, or otherwise in violation of applicable laws or venue policies.
- SBA does not control, direct, or override alcohol service decisions made by the vendor.
- Refusal of alcohol service by the licensed vendor does not entitle any attendee to a refund, ticket downgrade, or other accommodation.
- Compliance with Applicable University of Houston and/or SBA Policies:
- All attendees are expected to adhere to University of Houston Law Center and SBA policies, including any codes of conduct.
- Violations of these policies during the event may result in appropriate disciplinary action, including removal from the premises.
- Consequences for Violations:
- Any attendee removed from the event for any of the above reasons may be subject to a 1-year ban from attending any SBA-sponsored events.
The SBA reserves the right to take such further actions as deemed necessary, including notifying UHLC administration and security/law enforcement personnel. Your cooperation is essential to ensuring a safe and enjoyable evening for all. By attending this event, you acknowledge and agree to abide by these terms.
